Middle School Soccer Overtime

Following are the overtime policies of the two middle school conferences we work.  If you are working a game involving schools not in one of these conferences, be sure to determine overtime procedures before you start the match.

French Broad Conference

1. At the end of regulation, if the game is tied, there will be two 5 minute, non-sudden death, periods of overtime.
2. Teams will be given a five minute rest period following the end of regulation. Captains will again meet with
officials for a coin toss.
3. Between overtime periods teams will have one minute.
4. If the game is still tied after the ten minutes of play there will be a shootout.
5. Shootout rules are to follow those of the high school.
6. Each team will select, by writing down the names, five players to shoot. These players may be chosen from
any player on the roster. Players do NOT have to have been on the field at the end of play.
7. If the score is still tied following each teams five kicks coaches will send up one player each until the tie is
broken.

Apple Valley Conference

There will be two five minute periods with one minute between them.  If there is no score after these two periods, the game ends in a tie.
